Available Student Projects
To apply email your CV and transcript to: pbonazzi@ethz.ch
I am also open to supervise student-proposed projects, including startup-oriented ideas. In that case, include a short project description together with at least one reference paper (e.g., from an ML conference like NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR).

Excellence Criteria for Thesis Awards
Master theses should aim for the ETH Medal.
Bachelor, Semester, and Master theses should also aim for the PBL Best Thesis Award.
To be eligible for these awards, you would need to score a minimum grade of 5.5 for the PBL Awards or a 6 for the ETH Medal. Achieving a grade of 6 is evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Project difficulty and complexity
- Student engagement, i.e., consistent dedication and effort throughout the project
- Significant improvement over the course of the project
- Major contributions made independently, beyond the assigned tasks
- Exceptional approach and methodology, exceeding expectations
- High-quality results or breakthrough findings that can be used in further research
- Excellent documentation, serving as a strong example of report writing
- Outstanding presentation skills
- Active involvement in preparing a scientific paper
